Davao-based Boracay workers get DOLE aid

 

More workers who were displaced by the Boracay rehabilitation are availing of financial assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment.

 

This time, 32 of them who have returned to their hometowns in Davao City were the latest beneficiaries of the Boracay Emergency Employment Program – Adjustment Measures Program or BEEP-AMP, which is DOLE’s mitigation program for formal sector workers affected by the six months closure and rehabilitation of Boracay Island.

 

The qualified displaced workers will receive financial support equivalent to 50 percent of the minimum wage in Region VI amounting to P4,205.50 monthly for a maximum period of six months.

 

For workers retained, they will receive financial support equivalent to 25 percent of the minimum wage of Region VI or 2,102.75 for a period of three months and shall be deposited in lump sum to their accounts.

 

Other than the financial packages, there are also various assistance lodged under BEEP which includes the administration of appropriate social preparation, livelihood, and training programs, provision of grants and loans as preparation for the reopening of the island.

 

For Davao Region, out of the 32 workers, 13 workers have already received their first tranche of financial support.

 

Affected Boracay employees may avail of the program through the DOLE regional offices. They must submit the duly accomplished BEEP AMP Application Form which is available at http://bit.ly/BEEPAMP, certificate of employment, and any government-issued ID.

 

Davao Region-based Boracay rehabilitation affected workers may apply at DOLE XI located at the 4th Floor, AMQ Building, Dacudao Avenue, Agdao, Davao City and look for Ms. Erika Jil Diaz.

Manggagawa sa Boracay na umuwi sa Davao, binigyang ayuda ng DOLE

 

Higit na dumarami ang mga manggagawa na nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa rehabilitasyon ng Boracay ang nabigyan ng tulong pinansyal ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

 

Ngayon, 32 manggagawa na umuwi sa kanilang mga bayan sa Davao City ang nabigyan ng benepisyo sa ilalim ng Boracay Emergency Employment Program – Adjustment Measures Program o BEEP-AMP, o ang programa ng DOLE para sa mga manggagawa sa pormal na sektor na naapektuhan ng anim na buwang pagsasara at rehabilitasyon sa isla ng Boracay.

 

Ang mga kuwalipikadong manggagawa ay makatatanggap ng tulong pinansyal na katumbas ng 50 porsiyento ng minimum wage sa Region VI na nagkakahalaga ng P4,205.50 kada buwan sa loob ng anim na buwan.

 

Para naman sa mga manggagawang nanatili sa kanilang trabaho, makatatanggap sila ng tulong pinansyal na katumbas ng 25 posiyento ng minimum wage sa Region VI o P2,0102.75 sa loob ng tatlong buwan at ide-deposit ng lump sum sa kanilang mga account.

 

Liban sa pinansyal na tulong, mayroon ring iba pang ayuda na nakapaloob sa BEEP tulad ng ‘administration of appropriate social preparation,’ livelihood, at training program, at pagbibigay ng loan bilang paghahanda para sa muling pagbubukas ng isla.

 

Sa rehiyon ng Davao, mula sa 32 manggagawa,13 sa kanila ang nakatanggap na ng unang serye ng tulong pinansyal.

 

Ang mga apektadong empleyado ng Boracay ay maaaring mag-aplay para sa programa sa pamamagitan ng mga regional office ng DOLE. Dapat lamang silang magsumite ng duly accomplished BEEP AMP Application Form na maaaring makuha sa http://bit.ly/BEEPAMP, certificate of employment, at anumang government-issued ID.

 

Ang mga Davao Region-based na manggagawa mula sa Boracay na naapektuhan ng rehabilitasyon ay maaaring mag-aplay sa DOLE XI na matatagpuan sa 4th Floor, AMQ Building, Dacudao Avenue, Agdao, Davao City, hanapin lamang si Ms. Erika Jil Diaz.
