The labor department is reiterating the reminder to all Filipino workers in Hongkong to stay cautious and vigilant in the face of escalating protests and public disruptions in the semi autonomous Chinese territory.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III received fresh reports of series of protest actions resulting to disruptions in public transport and business activities in various parts of the region prompting him to appeal anew to OFWs for their safety and security.
The Philippine labor office continues to monitor developments in the area.
“We are again urging all our OFWs in Hong Kong to exercise caution by staying indoors and keeping away from the locations where protest activities are taking place,” the labor Secretary said.
In the latest advisory issued by the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong, among the reported areas where protests are to be held are:
10 October: Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station
12 October: New Town Plaza Shatin
13 October: Victoria Park and Edinburgh Place
14 October: Edinburgh Place and Chater Garden
16 October: Resumption of Legislative Council
20 October: The Riverpark Tai Wai to Shatin
21 October: Yuen Long MTR Station
26 October: Tamar Park Admiralty
31 October: Prince Edward MTR Station
The Labor Chief also discouraged Filipinos working in Hong Kong from wearing black or white colored upper garments while on the streets to avoid being mistaken as protesters and prevent untoward incidents. ###

Muling pinaalalahanan ng Department of Labor and Employment ang lahat ng manggagawang Filipino sa Hong Kong na mag-ingat at maging mapagmatiyag sa nagaganap na mga kilos-protesta at kaguluhan sa semi-autonomous Chinese territory.
Nakatanggap ng bagong ulat si Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III ukol sa sunod-sunod na kilos-protesta na naging dahilan upang ihinto ang pagpapatakbo ng mga pampublikong sasakyan at negosyo sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng rehiyon kaya muli siyang nanawagan sa mga OFW para sa kanilang kaligtasan at seguridad.
Patuloy na binabantayan ng Philippine labor office ang mga pangyayari sa nasabing lugar.
“Muli naming pinaaalalahanan ang lahat ng OFW sa Hong Kong na maging maingat at manatii lamang sa loob ng kanilang tirahan at trabaho at lumayo sa mga lugar kung saan nagaganap ang kilos-protesta,” ani Labor Secretary.
Sa pinakahuling advisory na inilabas ng Philippine Consulate General sa Hong Kong, kabilang sa mga naiulat na lugar kung saan magaganap ang protesta ay sa:

Pinaalalahanan din ng Kalihim ang mga Filipino na nagtatrabaho sa Hong Kong na huwag magsuot ng itim o puting damit habang nasa kalsada upang hindi mapagkamalang kasama sa nagpoprotesta at makaiwas sa anumang insidente.
