I take exception to the insinuation that there was failure on my part to submit my SALN.
I filed my 2015 SALN before I ended my last term in Congress last year and the same was made available to the Commission on Appointments prior to my confirmation as Secretary of Labor and Employment. My 2016 SALN is due for submission only on April 30, 2017.
The law, RA 6713, clearly mandates submission on or before April 30 of each year. This is the very same reason why SALNs of other Cabinet officials are not yet available to media.
I must stress that I have religiously complied with the requirements of the law on SALN submission since I became a public official.
There being no violation, the non-availability of my SALN is therefore a non-issue.
