Raise labor issues, concerns through DOLE Hotline 1349

The labor department has encouraged workers to raise their labor and employment issues and concerns by calling the DOLE Hotline 1349 and be empowered on their rights at work, including fair and just terms and conditions of their employment.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said the 24/7 hotline is responsive to all workers’ queries and has responded to more than 90,000 queries in 2018, which are all acted upon.

“The operation of the DOLE Hotline ensures that all the concerns of our workers are attended to and acted upon to further empower them on their rights at work,” Bello said.

DOLE Hotline 1349 has satisfactorily responded to 93, 392 queries from the 86,570 calls received for the year 2018, which is more than the number of total received calls as callers have more than one queries on their labor and employment issues.

Majority of the queries dwelt on social protection and welfare concerns with 68,114 queries, including the proper computations of night shift differential, overtime pay, holiday pay, and 13th month pay.

The hotline has also responded to 15,779 queries on labor relations, including workers’ concerns on DOLE’s Single Entry Approach (SEnA) mechanism, grievance settlement/voluntary arbitration, and calls on non-remittances of government contributions.

Also, 5,578 queries on employment, including employment facilitation, employment application, and skills enhancement program were also acted upon, as well as the 2,983 queries on labor standard, particularly on the registration of establishments.

The DOLE Hotline 1349, which was launched last September 2016, is a response of the labor department to the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte to communicate its services and program to the Filipinos on their labor and employment concerns.

Workers can call for free by dialing the hotline number 1349 for domestic.

Usapin ukol sa paggawa, isangguni sa DOLE Hotline 1349

Hinihikayat ng labor department ang mga manggagawa na isangguni sa DOLE Hotline 1349 ang kanilang mga katanungan at hinaing ukol sa paggawa at dagdagan ang kanilang  kaalaman sa kanilang karapatan sa paggawa, kasama ang patas at makatarungang kondisyon sa pagtatrabaho.

Sinabi ni Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello na ang 24/7 hotline ay tumutugon sa lahat ng usapin ukol sa paggawa at mahigit 90,000 katanungan ang nabigyan ng kasagutan at aksyon ng 2018.

 “Tinitiyak ng DOLE hotline na nabibigyan ng tugon ang lahat ng suliranin ng manggagawa para mapalakas ang kanilang karapatan sa paggawa,” ani Bello.

Natugunan ng DOLE Hotline 1349 ang 93, 392 katanungan mula sa 86,570 tawag na kanilang natanggap ng taong 2018.  Ito ay mahigit sa kabuuang bilang ng kanilang natanggap na tawag dahil ang isang tawag ay may mahigit na isang katanungan ukol sa usapin sa paggawa. 

Karamihan sa mga katanungan ay ukol sa social protection and welfare na may 68,114 katanungan, kabilang dito ang wastong pagkukuwenta ng night shift differential, overtime pay, holiday pay, at 13th month pay.

Tumugon din ang hotline sa 15,779 katanungan na may kinalaman sa labor relations, kabilang ang DOLE Single Entry Approach (SEnA) mechanism, grievance settlement/voluntary arbitration, at tawag sa hindi pagre-remit ng kontribusyon.

Nabigyan din ng tugon ang 5,578 katanungan ukol sa empleo, kabilang ang employment facilitation, employment application, at skills enhancement program, gayundin ang 2,983 katanungan ukol sa labor standard, partikular ang pagrerehistro ng establisyamento. 

Ang DOLE Hotline 1349, na inilunsad noong Setyembre 2016,  ang tugon ng labor department sa direktiba ni Presidente Rodrigo Duterte na ipaabot sa mga manggagawang Filipino ang mga programa at serbisyo  ng pamahalaan ukol sa paggawa.
