In celebration of DOLE’s 80th Anniversary POLO-Hongkong gives “Libreng OEC sa Unang Eighty” Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz yesterday said that the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Hong Kong will be issuing free overseas employment certificates (OECs) to 80 overseas Filipino workers, as part of its celebration of the department’s 80th anniversary. “One of the activities that POLO-Hong Kong prepared as part of the celebration of the DOLE’s 80th anniversary is a program dubbed as “Libreng OEC sa Unang Eighty” wherein the first 80 OFWs who will secure the said document from December 1 to 8 shall get it for free,” Baldoz said. Citing a report from Labor Attache to Hong Kong Manuel Roldan, she added that a total of 480 free OEC’s will be given for free during the said period. “We want to make the DOLE’s 80th Anniversary a memorable one for the OFWs here in Hong Kong,” Labor Attache Roldan said in his report. Aside from the “Libreng OEC sa Unang Eighty”, POLO-Hong Kong will also hold a friendly badminton match for POLO and OWWA volunteers and wards and a bazaar where proceeds of such will be donated to Bohol victims. This year’s DOLE anniversary theme is “Walumpung Taong Pag-unlad, Walumpung Taong Paglilingkod”. End/letmaring
