The PhilJobNet, the labor department’s internet-based job and applicant matching system, this week recorded almost 2,000 new vacancies in the field of sales.

In a report from the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE), the new vacancies are for the positions of merchandiser – 495; junior supervisor – 495; customer service assistant – 380; cashier – 296; and stall salesperson – 200.

Vacancies at the call center still topped the weekly listing of job opportunities at 2,060. This was followed by staff nurse – 650; mason – 502; market salesperson – 441; household attendant – 349; and public health nurse – 297.

There are also vacancies for non-formal education teacher – 270; financial/accounts specialist – 248; service crew – 245; domestic helper – 211; waiter – 210; barista – 204; construction carpenter – 195; warehouseman – 191; and supervising management specialist (government) – 160.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III encouraged the public to make full use of the PhilJobNet’s enhanced services as it fast tracks the jobseeker’s search for jobs and the employer’s search for work force.

The job portal already has 21,628 active jobseekers and 2,819 accredited employers with job posts.
