The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is pleased to grant the request of Nikole Andrei B. Mallare, an OWWA scholar under the Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) permission to attend the 6th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE) to be held at Ceasar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada from 26-30 July 2015, OWWA chief Rebecca Calzado reported to Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz yesterday.
Mallare, a 4th year BS Industrial Engineering student at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, has co-authored the paper, “System Assessment of the Legibility of the Handwriting in Medical Prescriptions of Doctors from Public and Private Hospitals in Quezon City, Philippines.”
After a rigid selection conducted by the UP Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, the paper was selected for submission to the AFHE organizers and was later on accepted for presentation in the August conference.
Mallare receives P60,000per school year as part of his scholarship under the OWWA Education for Development Scholarship Program.
