Over 15,800 job opportunities will be available to qualified applicants during the Department of Labor and Employment’s 2016 Independence Day Job Fair at the Luneta Park in Manila on 12 June 2016.


Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said, adding that the 2016 Kalayaan Job Fair is open to jobseekers – the unemployed, skilled and unskilled workers, fresh graduates, graduates of technical – vocational institutions, returning OFWs, displaced workers, and employees seeking advancement.


Sixteen (16) recruitment agencies licensed by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) will participate in the job fair which will  offer overseas job opportunities in Algeria, Nigeria, Australia, New Zealand, British Virgin Island, Brazil, China, Brunei Darussalam, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Guam, Georgia, japan, Indonesia, Morocco, Malaysia, Saipan, , Taiwan, Bahamas, Zambia, South Korea, Mozambique, United States, Botswana, Singapore, Macau, Maldives, Jordan, Russia, Canada, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Vietnam, and Papua New Guinea.

The labor chief said the 16 recruitment agencies are regular participants at DOLE job fairs and have been carefully chosen by the POEA.

The lead agency in the 2016 Kalayaan Job Fair is the DOLE-NCR, with the active support of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) and the Bureau of Local Employment, Occupational Safety and Health Center, Employees’ Compensation Commission, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Professional Regulation Commission, National Conciliation and Mediation Board, and the PESO Association of Metro Manila. The DOLE’s Administrative Service, Financial Management Service, Human Resource Development Service, and the Labor Communications Office also support the job fair.


The theme of this year’s Independence Day anniversary celebration is “Pagkakaisa, Pag-aambagan, Pagsulong.”
