Jobseekers, including fresh graduates, may secure or renew their cedula or passports and other pertinent pre-employment documents during the Labor Day celebration in Quezon City on May 1, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) today said.
Labor and Employment Secretary Patricia A. Sto. Tomas said that various government agencies that process pre-employment requirements will provide convenient one-stop services to jobseekers along with various firms and recruitment agencies participating in the Jobs and Livelihood Fair which will be held at the Quezon City Hall Covered Walk on Elliptical Road, Quezon City to celebrate Labor Day on May 1.
Sto. Tomas also said that some 150 local employers and overseas recruitment agencies shall offer 30,000 vacancies to jobseekers at the event dubbed, “Trabaho Muna! Labor Day Jobs and Livelihood Fair.”
She said that the fair, to be led by the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines in cooperation with the DOLE and the Quezon City government, will be from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
During the fair, applicants may secure or renew pertinent documents such as NBI clearance, passports, birth certificates, cedula, and PhilHealth card. Fresh graduates and new entrants to the labor force may also apply for tax identification and social security numbers.
Undersecretary Danilo P. Cruz said that the National Bureau of Investigation, Department of Foreign Affairs, National Statistics Office, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Phil-Health, Social Security System, and the Quezon City government will set up booths at the fair to provide needed services to applicants wanting to secure or renew pertinent pre-employment documents.
He also advised interested job applicants to bring their bio-data/resume, diploma, transcript of records, ID pictures, and employment certificates to facilitate the processing their job applications.
