In Region 3, DOLE readies 7,500 jobs at Kalayaan 2014 Job Fairs DOLE Regional Director Ana C. Dione yesterday reported to Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz that the DOLE regional office in Central Luzon has already tallied over 7,500 job vacancies that job seekers can apply for at the Kalayaan 2014 job fairs. “After the successful Labor Day 2014 Job Fair in May, DOLE Regional Office No. 3 is gearing up for a series of job fairs on the occasion of our celebration of Philippine independence on 12 June,” said Dione in her report. “In partnership with the different local government units in the region through their respective Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs), we have already listed 7,788 job vacancies for the Kalayaan 2014 Job Fairs in all parts of the region,” she added. The venues of the Kalayaan 2014 Job Fairs are at the Provincial Capitol Gym, Malolos City, Bulacan; Rizal Triangle Multipurpose Court, Olongapo City; and Castillejos Covered Court in Castillejos, Zambales. There will also be one job fair to be held on 13 June at the Municiapl Gym in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija; one job fair on 20 June at the Events Hall of Waltermart Mall, City of San Fernando, Pampanga; another job fair on 27 June at the Paniqui Municipal Covered Court in Paniqui, Tarlac. The Philippines welcomes the 116th Independence Day annual commemoration on 12 June on the theme, Pagsunod sa Yapak ng mga Dakilang Pilipino, Tungo sa Malawakan at Permanenteng Pagbabago. According to Director Dione, 4,500 of the 7,788 vacancies are for abroad, while 3,188 are local job vacancies. “We will have 101 participating employers–76 local companies 25 licensed recruitment agencies,” she said. Dione stated that the job vacancies offered for local and overseas employment include positions for various professions/occupations, such as engineers, accountants, account executives, sales managers, office managers, HR practitioners, customer service representatives, office clerks, administrative assistants, receptionists, call center agents, and production workers. Tech-voc jobs are also likely to be offered, such as carpenters, automotive, plumbers, welders, technicians, machine operators, cooks, and waiters. During these job fairs, Director Dione said participating jobseekers may avail of various pre-employment services, such as issuances of birth certificates, NBI clearances, and PhilHealth registration through the DOLE’s allied partner agencies, namely, Social Security System (SSS), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), PhilHealth, and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). Members of the DOLE Regional Coordinating Committee will also be present to provide the services of their respective agencies. Baldoz reminded jobseekers to come fully prepared for the upcoming job fairs. “Seize the opportunity. Come with proper attire and bring your pre-employment document, such as multiple copies of your resumes, photos, transcript of records, NBI clearances, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-Ibig membership cards so you will have more chances of landing your dream job,” she said.
