To make it easier and faster for jobseekers to search and find jobs at the 2015 Labor Day Job Fair at the PICC Forum 1 and 2 in Pasay City and in some regional venues all over the country, Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said yesterday that the DOLE is bringing at the job and livelihood fairs an array of free employment facilitation services through a one-stop shop.

“The DOLE is setting up one-stop shops for job seekers so they can easily access our free employment facilitation services. These services will be issuance of individual clearances and birth and marriage certificates; enrolment in social security and medical insurance; enrolment in shelter security membership; issuance and renewal of profession licenses; enrolment in BIR for income tax purposes; and application for and issuance of government IDs.

The one-stop shops will be manned by officers and representatives of the National Bureau of Investigation; National Statistics Office; Social Security System; PhilHealth Pag-IBIG; Professional Regulation Commission; Bureau of Internal Revenue; and Philippine Postal Corporation.

“These pre-employment documentation services are essential to getting a job,” Baldoz said.

Baldoz also assured job seekers and applicants that DOLE partners, such as Phicopy and Smart Communications, Inc. are providing free photocopying and ID picture production services.

Aside from the free pre-employment services the one-stop shops will offer, a 16-man man team of lawyers and legal personnel from the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB), Bureau of Labor Relations (BLR), National Wages and Productivity Commission, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, DOLE-NCR, and the DOLE Legal Service will offer free legal services on labor and employment matters and inquiries.

“The team shall also provide information on the Department’s programs and services, particularly on the Labor Law Compliance System, the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) mechanism, and D.O. 18-A,” Baldoz said.

Just like in previous DOLE Job and Livelihood Fairs, the one-stop shop one of the more anticipated features of the 2015 Job and Livelihood Fair.

Baldoz emphasized that the DOLE will conduct jobs and livelihood fairs not only to address unemployment, but also to promote better collaboration between employers, workers, and government, especially at the local level.

“The 2015 Labor Day celebration is anchored on the theme, “Disenteng Trabaho at Kabuhayan, Alay Natin sa Bayan” which clearly identifies the DOLE’s effort achieve an all-inclusive commemoration focused on facilitating workers’ and employers’ search for jobs and the creation of livelihoods towards developing the country’s top resource and achieving decent and productive jobs that will contribute to economic growth,” Baldoz said.

The DOLE 2015 Labor Day Celebration in the national capital is supported by DOLE partners, namely PESO Quezon City; PAG-IBIG; PhilHealth; PALSCON; Smart and Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce Inc., Smart International, Sun Prepaid. The Philippine Daily Inquirer; Manila Bulletin, and Philippine Star are this year’s DOLE media partners in the Labor Day commemoration.
