Germany hikes minimum pay of Pinoy nurses
Filipino nurses working in Germany under the ‘Triple Win’ program will get an increase in minimum wage.
In a news advisory, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) said the government of Germany, during the 5th Joint Committee Meeting in Bonn last year, has announced the increase of the minimum wage for Triple Win nurses.
Triple Win Project is a government-to-government project with the German Federal Republic and the Philippines which is supervised by the POEA.
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration said nurses who were interviewed and have signed employment contracts as of January 1, 2019, will receive 2.000 euros before and 2.400 after recognition as a qualified nurse. The previous minimum wage was 1,900 euros and 2,300 euros.
The increase, however, does not apply to those nurses who have already arrived in Germany and whose employment contracts have already been signed in 2018 but may not be processed at the POEA yet.
At present, the POEA is still accepting applications to fill up 400 vacancies.

The employer will pay the visa and airfare from the Philippines to Germany and will assist the employee to find suitable accommodation. The selected nurse will bear the expenses in full or in part of the board and lodging.
