Festive air sets in
At OSHC rites tomorrow
It will be an atmosphere of festivities at the Occupational Safety and Health Center in Quezon City, the center of tomorrow’s celebrations of the 83rd founding anniversary of the Department of Labor and Employment.
Also tomorrow, DOLE officials and employees are set to reaffirm the DOLE’s commitment in the delivery of its services to the Filipino workers.
In a simple but jovial ceremony, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has been invited to address DOLE employees from the central office and other officials of its attached agencies and institutions. Secretary Silvestre Bello III will deliver his very first anniversary message.
Around 600 employees from the DOLE’s central office, regional offices, attached agencies, and bureaus are expected to attend the celebratory activities.
Coinciding with the Feast of the Immaculate Concepcion, the celebration of the department’s founding anniversary will start with a thanksgiving mass.
To feel the Christmas spirit, carollers from Pag Asa ng Buhay Association, Inc., Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc., Life Giver Association, Inc., and Keeper’s Club International will serenade the DOLE family with a special number.
Selected DOLE employees will showcase their talents in a segment dubbed Katutubong Sayaw sa Makabagong Awitin.
Representatives from the Office of the Secretary and the Legal Affairs Cluster (blue team) will present Maglalatik sa Himig ng Love Me Like You Do; DOLE employees from the Regional Operations and General Administration Cluster (red team) will present Simbang Gabi and Christmas Song Medley; representatives from the Employment and Policy Support Cluster (green team) will present Katutubong Sayaw Mula sa Mindanao: Singkil-Tinikling sa Himig ng Single Ladies; employees from the Bureau of Labor Relations (BLR), Bureau of Working Conditions (BWC), Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC), National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB), and National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) or the beige team, will present Salu-salong Pamilya: Family Reunion Noche Buena; and lastly, employees from the Workers Welfare and Protection Cluster (violet team) will present a peace and unity themed dance number.
