The Public Assistance and Complaints Unit (PACU) of the Department of Labor and Employment’s Legal Services recorded a 100 percent service mileage in July by providing assistance to all of 272 walk-in clients.

 

DOLE Legal Service Director Atty. Romeo M. Montefalco, in a report to Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz, said the legal assistance services on various labor and employment-related issues and concerns were for the period 1-30 July 2015.

 

“The top three issues brought to us by the 272 PACU clients on (1) termination of employment, with 123 clients; (2) money claims, with 57 clients; and (3) social welfare benefits, 42 clients,” he said.

Apart from providing legal advice to external clients, the Legal Service also renders support service and assistance to the Department and its employees through informative and clarificatory opinion on labor laws and rules and regulations.

 

The PACU, which is under the Legal Research and Assistance Division (LRAD) of the Legal Service, has committed to provide prompt and efficient service to the public. “The PACU welcomes employers and employees alike for assistance with respect to issues concerning all aspects of labor matters,” Montefalco explained.

 

The PACU is located at the Ground Floor of the DOLE Executive Building, San Jose St., Intramuros, Manila and is open from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (Mondays to Fridays).
