DOLE’s GIP, TUPAD to reinforce DENR’s greening program
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through its Cagayan Valley Regional Office has committed anew to help the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR) continuous implementation of the National Greening Program through the provision of 14 Government Internship Program (GIP) beneficiaries and 35 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program beneficiaries.
DOLE-2 Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales said the GIP beneficiaries shall render service for the DENR for three months while the TUPAD beneficiaries shall render service for 60 days, with a daily wage of P420.
The beneficiaries shall provide additional manpower to accelerate the survival and growth of bamboo and other trees planted in a 38-hectare plantation situated in the provinces of Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino.
The said commitment comes after a memorandum of agreement was signed among the DOLE, DENR, and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for the engagement of TUPAD and GIP beneficiaries to further sustain bamboo reforestation and promote the bamboo business industry, initially employing about 11 GIP beneficiaries for the said effort.
“Through the GIP, the beneficiaries are allowed to earn a living [while] also augmenting government efforts to address climate change through massive planting activities,” DENR RO2 Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan said.
Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales meanwhile underscored the DOLE’s efforts to continually augment the program needs of partner agencies through the provision of GIP and TUPAD assistance.
“The regional office shall endeavor to partner with government agencies to further our mandate on labor and employment and our partnership with the DENR and DTI ensures the continuity of this goal,” RD Gonzales said. ###

GIP, TUPAD ng DOLE, tutulong sa pagpapalakas ng greening program ng DENR
Muling nagbigay tulong ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Cagayan Regional Office sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) para sa patuloy na pagpapatupad ng National Greening Program sa pamamagitan ng 14 na benepisaryo ng Government Internship Program at 35 benepisaryo ng Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
Ayon kay DOLE-2 Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales, ang mga benepisyaryo ng GIP ay magbibigay ng serbisyo para sa DENR sa loob ng tatlong buwan habang ang mga benepisyaryo ng TUPAD ay maglilingkod sa loob ng 60 araw, na may arawang sahod na P420.
Magtatrabaho ang mga benepisyaryo para sa pangangalaga ng mga kawayan at iba pang punong nakatanim sa 38-ektaryang plantasyon na matatagpuan sa mga lalawigan ng Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, at Quirino.
Nagbigay ng tulong ang DOLE matapos lumagda sa isang memorandum of agreement sa pagitan ng DOLE, DENR, at Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) hinggil sa pagtatalaga ng mga benepisaryo ng TUPAD at GIP para sa muling pagtatanim ng kawayan at pagsusulong sa industriya ng kawayan, kung saan 11 benepisaryo ng GIP ang naunang itinalaga para sa nasabing gawain.
“Sa pamamagitan ng GIP, ang mga benepisaryo ay maaaring magtrabaho habang patuloy na tinutugunan ng pamahalaan ang climate change sa pamamagitan ng malawakang pagtatanim,” pahayag ni DENR RO2 Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan.
Samantala, binigyang diin naman ni Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales ang pagsisikap ng DOLE na patuloy na palawakin ang mga pangangailangan sa programa ng mga partner agencies sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng tulong ng GIP at TUPAD.
“Patuloy ang regional office na magsusumikap na tumulong sa mga ahensiya ng pamahalaan sa pagsusulong ng aming mandato hinggil sa paggawa at empleyo at ang aming pakikipagtulungan sa DENR at DTI ang tumitiyak upang ipagpatuloy ang layuning ito,” wika ni RD Gonzales. ###
