Stepping up the labor department’s efforts in the implementation of Batas Kasambahay, Secretary Silvestre Bello III formed a technical working group to help enhance the promotion of voluntary compliance of employers and ensure implementation of the law.
In Administrative Order No. 109, Bello tasked the technical working group to coordinate with other stakeholders in promoting compliance initiatives by employers to Republic Act No. 10361 and other related policies.
The TWG shall also draft or recommend policies to harmonize implementation of the provisions of the law at the labor department’s field, provincial, and regional offices.
To address the issues related to the implementation of Batas Kasambahay, the TWG shall likewise conduct stakeholders’ and implementers’ forum.
The TWG is headed by Undersecretary Joel B. Maglunsod, as chairperson and Assistant Secretary Maria Gloria Tango, as vice chairperson.
Its members are the Executive Directors of the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) and the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC); the Directors of the Bureau of Working Conditions (BWC), Bureau of Labor Relations (BLR), Bureau of Local Employment (BLE), and DOLE Legal Service; and the Regional Directors of the DOLE-National Capital Region, DOLE Central Luzon, and DOLE CALABARZON.
The Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC), as the TWG’s secretariat, was tasked to facilitate the finalization and approval of the draft policies prepared by the TWG, organize stakeholders’ conference, and provide other administrative support.
