“We’re all set and ready for 2016 graduation season which is usually marked with high turnout of jobseekers,” DOLE Bicol Regional Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra said on local TV yesterday.
RD Lacambra assured the DOLE Bicol’s readiness in providing job search facilitation as graduation ceremonies for higher education institutions take place this March and few months thereafter.
“Yearly, DOLE Bicol is expecting the bulk of job seekers flocking the office and the Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs), starting at least a day or two after graduation. With this yearly trend, DOLE Bicol is equipped and ready for the job hunting season by slating a series of Job Fairs regionwide,” Lacambra said.
He also said that as early as now, they want to inform Bicolanos, especially the graduating college students, that DOLE has scheduled several job fairs to help them quickly find a job.
DOLE Bicol’s Job Fairs schedule is highlighted by the annual three major jobs fairs that is usually kicked off by the Magayon Jobs Fair sponsored by the Provincial PESO of Albay on the last week of April.
This is followed by the simultaneous Labor Day Mega Jobs Fair usually held at SM Naga City and in Legazpi City on May 1, and culminated with the Independence Day Jobs Fair usually held at the Plaza Trece Martires and sponsored by Metro Naga PESO on June 12.
DOLE Bicol Assistant Regional Director Atty. Ma. Karina Perida-Trayvilla said that attending a job fair is still the most economical, practical, and easiest way of landing a job.
“In one day you can apply to at least five to 10 companies joining the job fair, compared against the hassle of going from one company to another just to apply. We advise the graduating students to check our schedule of job fairs and take advantage of these for it is the fastest way to find jobs that are best suited to their qualifications and abilities,” ARD Perida-Trayvilla added.
Aside from the three major job fairs it has initiated, DOLE Bicol, in cooperation with the different municipal and school-based PESOs, has also scheduled several job fairs to provide job hunters with wider options and broader chances of being hired.

“But as early as January this year, there were already job fairs conducted around the region. And to know more about the scheduled job fairs, don’t hesitate to contact the DOLE Provincial Office or PESO nearest in your area,” said RD Lacambra.
Aside from these job fairs, DOLE Bicol will also provide tips on how to apply for a job and pass an interview as part of its Career Guidance program.
