DOLE honors best PESOs

The Department of Labor and Employment on Tuesday, October 25, recognized 19 Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) for going above and beyond their mandate of delivering job facilitation services amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The best-performing employment service offices were bestowed with the Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Award (SBSA) during the 2022 National PESO Congress held at the SMX Convention Center in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

The PESO nominees were evaluated based on their innovative, resilient, and humanitarian activities implemented from January to December 2021.

Specifically, the PESOs were assessed based on their new projects/programs or upgrading of existing projects/programs that are directly intended to cater to individuals who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The PESOs were likewise recognized for their effort in maintaining core services, particularly on referral and placement and vacancy solicitation, and their humanitarian activities that benefit their constituents apart from providing employment facilitation services.

The winners of the SBSA were chosen from among the nominees coming from all DOLE Regional Offices under ten categories. A total of 71 entries were submitted to the DOLE evaluation committee of which 59 entries qualified.

The winning PESOs received a trophy and P100,000 each, while a consolation prize of P20,000 each was awarded to the rest of the qualified entries.

Meanwhile, the Department also conferred the Choice of the Press Award to audio-video presentations submitted by the PESOs conveying their innovative, resilient, and humanitarian initiatives.

Three presentations stood out among 56 entries which were screened by a panel of judges composed of media partners from The Manila Times, Business Mirror, Philippine News Agency, and the DOLE-Information and Publication Service.

The winners are Sanchez Mira Municipal PESO, Cagayan (Region II) for the first place, Marinduque Provincial PESO (MIMAROPA) for the second place, and Tacurong City PESO (Region XII) for the third place.

This year’s PESO Congress is observed with the theme, “PESO Kaagapay ng Sambayanang Pilipino sa Makabagong Mundo ng Trabaho.” # # # aldm

Pinakamahusay na PESO, pinarangalan ng DOLE

Pinarangalan ng Department of Labor and Employment noong Martes, ika-25 ng Oktubre, ang 19 Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) dahil sa pagsisikap nilang higitan ang kanilang mandato na maghatid ng ng mga serbisyong pang-empleo sa gitna ng pandemyang COVID-19.

Ginawaran ng Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Award (SBSA) ang pinakamahusay na employment service office sa ginanap na 2022 National PESO Congress sa SMX Convention Center sa Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

Sinuri ang mga nominado sa PESO ayon sa kanilang ipinatupad na mga makabagong-likha, makataong gawain, at pagiging matatag mula Enero hanggang Disyembre 2021.

Partikular na sinuri ang mga PESO batay sa kanilang mga bagong proyekto/programa o pagpapabuti ng mga kasalukuyang proyekto/programa na direktang tumutugon sa mga indibidwal na nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa pandemyang COVID-19.

Kinilala rin ang mga PESO sa pagsusumikap nilang mapanatili ang mga pangunahing serbisyo, partikular ang kanilang referral at placement gayun din ang vacancy solicitation, at ang kanilang makataong gawain na pinakinabangan ng kanilang mga nasasakupan bukod sa pagbibigay ng mga serbisyo upang mabilis silang makahanap ng trabaho.

Pinili ang mga nagwagi ng SBSA sa mga nominasyong natanggap mula sa lahat ng DOLE Regional Office sa ilalim ng sampung kategorya. May kabuuang 71 nominasyon ang isinumite sa DOLE evaluation committee kung saan 59 ang kwalipikado.

Ang mga nagwaging PESO ay tumanggap ng tropeo at tig-P100,000, habang tumanggap naman ng tig-P20,000 bilang consolation prize ang mga kwalipikadong nominado.

Samantala, ipinagkaloob din ng Kagawaran ang Choice of the Press Award sa mga audio-video presentation (AVP) na isinumite ng PESO na nagpapakita ng ng kanilang mga inisyatibo sa pagbabago, pagiging matatag, at pagiging makatao.

Tatlong AVP ang pinarangalan mula sa 56 nominasyon na sinuri ng panel ng mga hurado na binubuo ng mga media partners mula sa The Manila Times, Business Business Mirror, Philipppine News Agency, at DOLE-Information and Publication Service.

Nagwagi ang Sanchez Mira Municipal PESO, Cagayan (Region II) para sa unang parangal; Marinduque Provincial PESO (MIMAROPA) para sa ikalawang parangal, at ang Tacurong City PESO (Region XII) para sa ikatlong parangal.

Ang PESO Congress sa taong ito ay may temang, “PESO Kaagapay ng Sambayanang Pilipino sa Makabagong Mundo ng Trabaho.” # # # aldm/gmea
