Jobseekers in this year’s Independence Day Job and Career Fairs need not worry about getting their pre-employment documents. The DOLE is putting up one-stop shops of government services in the job fair venues nationwide.

Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz assured this yesterday as she announced the set-up of one-stop shops of government services at job fairs venues nationwide, for an accessible facilitation of pre-employment requirements of jobseekers.

“The DOLE has again partnered with various government agencies to make it easy for jobseekers to secure needed requirements, thus keep their focus in getting a job,” said Baldoz.

Among the employment facilitation services to be offered include issuance of clearances; enrolment in BIR for tax purposes; issuance of birth and marriage certificates; enrolment in social security and protection; enrolment in medical insurance; issuance and renewal of professional licenses; and application for and issuance of government IDs.

Manning the one-stop shop are representatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth, Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost).

Aside from the pre-employment services, the one-stop shop will also provide free legal assistance and services on labor and employment matters, which will be facilitated by lawyers and legal personnel of the DOLE Legal Service, National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), and DOLE-NCR.

Baldoz has expressed excitement over the conduct of 2016 Independence Day Job and Career Fairs, saying it wraps up the successful job fairs mounted under the Aquino III administration.

This year’s Independence Day Job and Career Fairs, is sponsored by SMART Communications, Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Inc. (FFCCCII), and the Philippine Association of Local Service Contractors (PALSCON), all regular DOLE partners in its job fair activities.

The DOLE will join other government agencies on 12 June 2016 at Rizal Park in spearheading activities, in celebration of the country’s 118th Independence, which carries the theme “Pagkakaisa, Pag-aambagan, Pagsulong”.
