Public servants also need time to relax and recharge in order to improve their productivity, and thus, be able to serve well their clients.
Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said this yesterday as she urged public sector workers to take advantage of the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) promo offerings on discounted rates and special offers in selected recreation centers and dining establishments.
The CSC’s treats are in connection with the 115th Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) celebration, which started in the month of September and will end on 31 December this year.
To avail the discounted rates, interested employees would simply present their company or GSIS IDs upon purchase of ticket, during the promo period.
Government employees can purchase ten (10) tickets for family members and friends. It can be enjoyed also by a representative of the government employee who is allowed to purchase a ticket by showing a valid ID and an authorization letter.
Business establishments that offer discounted rates on their services are the Manila Ocean Park (special packages for their Oceanarium until 31 December), Executive Optical (special packages on exclusive frames and sunglasses until 31 December), Chowking and Red Ribbon (special discount for selected food until 15 October for Chowking and until 15 November for Red Ribbon).
Other business establishments are offering special privilege discounts to government workers during the Civil Service Month celebration.
“This is a modest but sincere way of treating government employees, their families, and friends. It is also one way of bestowing our government workforce a heart-warming compliment,” Baldoz said.
This year marks the CSC’s 115th foundation anniversary, pursuant to Public Law No. 5, otherwise known as “An Act for the Establishment and Maintenance of an Efficient and Honest Civil Service in the Philippine Islands,” which was enacted on September 19, 1900. For the occasion, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has lined up events and special treats designed to encourage and inspire servant-heroes in all government agencies nationwide to actively take part in the anniversary celebration.
