“There’s a new battlecry that brings together the five key services in empowering workers and sustaining enterprises. It’s #EngageMotivateAchieve, and this will stir a new kind of culture that strongly fosters safe and harmonious workplace; healthy, productive, and skilled workforce; improved business performance; greater market access; and more employment opportunities.”
This was announced by Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz when she led the soft launching of the #EngageMotivateAchieve productivity toolkit in Zamboanga and Cebu during the recent area-wide seminar on the role of Labor Management Committee (LMC) in the DOLE Regional Coordination Committee’s (RCC) convergence of programs.
The five key service areas of #EngageMotivateAchieve are Occupational Safety and Health, Workplace Relations, Productivity, Occupational Skills Enhancement, and Livelihood Assistance. “We will ultimately bring this campaign to our 17 DOLE Regional Coordinating Councils in the country,” Baldoz added.
“Why hashtag? As we all know, a hashtag, which was popularized in social media sites, is ‘a type of label which makes it easier for users to quickly find messages with a specific theme or content’. In the same vein, ‘hashtagging’ our productivity toolkit quickly assembles the varied services offered by these five service areas, and this enables our workers and enterprises to locate these services which are fitted to their needs,” Baldoz said.
“Additionally, the Secretary added, when we use hashtag, we don’t use spaces. Likewise, in this productivity toolkit program, there are no gaps, no spaces, only unified connections and convergence of interventions, such as training programs, that addresses the needs of our workers and enterprises, thus honing even further their efficiency.”
At the core of this program are the Technical Assistance on General Labor Standards, Basic Occupational Safety and Health, Including Construction Safety Training, Technical Assistance on Grievance Machinery for Organized Firms, and Family Welfare Program for Large Establishments.
