150k jobs up for grabs on June 12

The labor department invites job seekers across the country as it rolls out thousands of employment opportunities during the 124th Independence Day on Sunday, June 12.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said 149,192 local and overseas job opportunities are up for grabs in the face-to-face Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Job and Business Fairs to be participated by 1,160 employers nationwide.

The labor chief said the participation of employers in the June 12 job fairs is a testament to the fruition of the government’s efforts at employment recovery that was heavily impacted by the pandemic.

Most of the vacancies in the 25 job fair sites are in manufacturing, business process outsourcing, financial activities, and construction.

Bello said that those looking for local employment may take advantage of the 111,351 jobs for production operators; customer service representatives; micro finance officers/loan officers; sewers/sewing mechanics; and masons, carpenters, and laborers to be offered by 1,072 employers.

Meanwhile, 37,828 overseas jobs in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Australia will be offered by 88 recruitment agencies.

The top overseas vacancies are for nurses; factory workers; household service workers; carpenters, electricians, and masons; and cleaners.

Employment opportunities in the government sector will also be offered at the various job fair sites. Among the vacancies are jail officers, police officers, enforcement officers, chemists, researchers, lawyers, geologists, and revenue officers.

The participating government agencies are the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Philippine National Police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Philippine Statistics Authority, and the local government unit of Iloilo.

Bello said that the main job fair site on June 12 is at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos City, Bulacan, where over 12,000 jobs will be offered by 146 employers.

Other job fair sites on June 12 are in the following regions:

National Capital Region – Robinsons Place Manila; Pasig City Sports Complex; Vista Mall Taguig

Cordillera Administrative Region – Bishop Carlito Cenzon Sports Center, St. Louis University

Ilocos Region – Don Leopoldo Sison Convention Center, Alaminos, Pangasinan; CSI The City Mall, San Fernando, La Union; Candon Civic Center, Candon City, Ilocos Sur; Nepo Mall, Dagupan, Pangasinan

Cagayan Valley Region – Robinsons Place Tuguegarao; Centro Mall, Santiago City

CALABARZON – Metro Centro Mall, Sta. Cruz, Laguna

MIMAROPA – Citimall, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro

Bicol Region – Sorsogon Provincial Gymnasium

Jobseekers may also visit SM City Bacolod, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental in Western Visayas; Robinsons Galleria Cebu and Lamberto Macias Sports Complex, Dumaguete City in Central Visayas; and Robinsons North Tacloban in Eastern Visayas.

In Mindanao, the job fair sites are in the following regions:

Zamboanga Peninsula – Eastwing, Ground Floor, KCC Mall de Zamboanga, Zamboanga City

Northern Mindanao – 2nd Floor Event Center, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City

Davao Region – NCCC Mall, Buhangin, Davao City

SOCCSKSARGEN – Events and Convention Center, 3F KCC Mall of GenSan,

General Santos City

CARAGA – Robinsons Place Butuan, Butuan City

Earlier, a job fair was held on June 11 at SM City Calamba, while another job fair will be held on June 14 at Fortunata Village Club House Gymnasium in Parañaque City. END/aldm
