1,149 students attend DOLE ZamboSur in Career Guidance launch Pagadian City–DOLE Regional Office No. 9 Director Sisinio Cano has reported that close to 1,200 students of the Zamboanga del Sur School of Arts and Trade (ZSSAT) and of the Zamboanga del Sur National High School (ZSNHS) Main Campus in Pagadian City had attended the premier conduct of the Career Guidance Week, one of several activities-strategies under the convergent program, Career Guidance Advocacy Program, of the Aquino III administration. The Career Guidance Week, set for the third week of July every year, was simultaneously launched all over the country last 22 July, on the theme, Follow the guide. Tag a career. Like the future! In Zamboanga del Sur, Director Cano reported to Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz that the Career Guidance Week was simultaneously conducted at the ZSSAT whose launch was held at the Kawit Barangay Covered Court and at the ZSNHS in Sta. Maria District, Pagadian City. The week-long activity was designed to assist students in goal-setting and planning their chosen careers. At the ZSSAT, the launch affair was attended by Barangay Chairman Sangcadra Dimasar; Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Elsa Cruz; Supervisor on Values and Guidance Dr. Cynthia Rose Cartojano; TESDA specialist Engr. Adrian Ampong; and Camilo A. Encila, Jr., Supervising LEO of the Department of Labor and Employment, Zamboanga del Sur Field Office, who discussed labor market information and industry careers (101 hard-to-fill jobs). At the Zamboanga del Sur National High School, Main Campus, the launch was attended by Lourdes E. Floriza of DOLE-ZDSFO, who delivered a talk on goal setting and action planning, and Mary Jane B.
