Professional Regulation Commission
The MRPQ aims to enhance the mobility of professionals through the exchange of information on the educational systems and the registration and licensing policies and procedures in different countries. Extension of recognition of professional qualification to other professions has 4 phases: (1) Research and Data Gathering; (2) Stakeholders’ Consultation; (3) Meeting with Foreign counterpart; (4) Signing of an instrument for the MRPQ on both local and international professionals.
Through the ASEAN MRA, a Member State may recognize the education or experience obtained, requirements met, or licenses or certifications granted in a particular country. Such recognition may be achieved through harmonization or may be based upon an agreement or arrangement with the country concerned.
The recognition and eligibility of professionals should be in compliance with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at a satisfactory level certified by PRA of not having violated any professional or ethical standards.A foreign professional who satisfies the above conditions are to be recognized as qualified to practice in the Host Country.
