The Department of Labor and Employment-Central Office (DOLE-CO) will migrate from its ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS) to ISO 9001:2015, the latest version of ISO’s flagship quality management systems standard.
This migration to risk management, as the major new requirement of ISO 9001:2015, will require the DOLE to undergo deliberate or full-blown risk management application.
This will involve determination of risks and opportunities within the organization and put in place systematic processes to achieve the purpose of the QMS and its intended results.
As part of the preparatory activities, the DOLE QMS Committee conducted a briefing on ISO 9001:2015 on May 2016, which was participated in by DOLE officials and employees.
It can be recalled that the DOLE-CO including its two attached agencies namely, the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) and the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) were awarded the ISO 9001:2008 Certificate for Quality Management System (QMS) on 2 September 2015. This will expire on 15 July 2018.
The DOLE QMS is a continual strategic program of the Department towards ensuring transparency, accountability, efficiency and effectiveness in its operations to consistently meet the ever-changing needs of its clients.
The DOLE Regional Offices and Attached Agencies are also underway in their efforts towards attaining certification to ISO 9001:2015.
